 CPR Basics*
Upon finding an unresponsive adult who is not breathing normally: CALL 911 and GET THE AED if available.
C - Remove clothing from the victim's chest and place the heel of one hand with the other hand on top, at the center of the chest between the nipples. Give 30 Compressions. Press hard and press fast.
A - Open the Airway by gently tilting the forehead and lifting the chin.
B - Give two Breaths. (Note: If you do not feel comfortable giving breaths, do continuous compressions instead. Hands only CPR is an excellent alternative for adults in sudden cardiac arrest.)
Give cycles of 30 compressions and 2 breaths until the AED arrives or EMS takes over.
D - Power on and attach Automated External Defibrillator as soon as it is available. Follow voice prompts.
